Forty-five
people turned up to the event
despite the weather outlook.
The only real rain was on the
cooks when they were in the middle
of operations. Thankfully they
had a fishermen’s
umbrella. Otherwise the
event was blessed with the weather
holding up.
GT Legends proved exceptionally difficult and I am led to believe that no one did a lap without hitting the Armco. Allan Feldman tried to uphold the club honour at the table football and enjoyed himself. I think he was catching up with a misspent youth.
We are indebted to Dr John for his photographic efforts, and also for judging the concours.

Dr John found it difficult to arrive at a decision as the cars presented were built to a very high standard. There were 14 GT40s from which to choose.
My thanks to you all for coming and for the liquid refreshments you brought with you. The backup team of Ian and Simone Anderson, Tony and Janet Hunt, and Paul Walton were very helpful and contributed to the success of the BBQ.
Warwick Bean the Land Lord of The Castle Inn Outwood donated a barrel of Harvey’s Best bitter and this went down extremely well. The advert for The Castle Inn simply says: no music or TV, just good old- fashioned hospitality, home made food and real-ales. Address Millers Lane, Outwood. RH1 5QB. Telephone 01342 7842754. Go there with your GT40 and you will receive a warm welcome.
Finally my thanks to Shonagh my wife for the hard work in preparing the event and making sure we had enough to eat and keeping the show on the road.
