GT40 Enthusiasts Club Summer BBQ

The first summer BBQ for some years (perhaps ever) took place at the country residence of Desmond and Shonagh Finnan.

Desmond took over the reins of the club this year and has been energetically re-organising affairs. The growing membership is evidence of his efforts to raise the Club profile, and a credit also to Tony Hunt (membership secretary).

This event was rewarded with a very fine August Bank holiday weather. Take a look at further pictures (courtesy of Dr. John)

Spa Track Day August 11th, Belgium

GT40 Enthusiasts flocked to Spa on August 11th for a much anticipated track day. Many thanks to Tony Hunt for organising the event through RMA.

Pictured here the 'downstairs' pit. With about 100 cars at the event the 'upstairs' pit area was fairly crowded. Garages were frequented by the serious teams tuning their cars.

The circuit, being 4.3 miles in length could handle a good number of cars at once without too much traffic. As can be seen in the photo the day started rather damp but remained helpfully dry until a downpour at 6pm - the end of the day's session.

Approaching the fearsome Eau Rouge bend at 100mph. Spa is a very photogenic circuit in beautiful surroundings, however the high speed corners warrant extra care as an 'off' can be very destructive. Click here for a personal report from Dave Champ ...

The Goodwood Festival of Speed

Stoneleigh 2005

We enjoyed the usual high attendance at The National K*t C*r Show at Stoneleigh. Situated close to the centre of England, this is an ideal opportunity each year for everyone to view a large variety of replica examples.

To the left is a splendid MkIII of Brian Carr. Further pictures here.
