Le Mans Classic 2010 Track Session

Information

We have been able to obtain a session to ourselves, on the full Le Mans track, on the Friday evening of the Le Mans Classic, 9th July. The cost of this will be £200 for each car, assuming we put 100 cars onto the circuit.

Two such slots were offered - the Ferrari club has already taken and paid for the first one and we have obtained the second.

In order to proceed, the Club needs confirmed support now. Please fill in the Track Session Form click here and send it with £200 to Tim Martin , our Treasurer as soon as possible. You can pay by UK cheque (made out to GT40 Enthusiasts Club), credit card or Pay Pal.

If we don’t get at least 30 takers and payments by 9th November 2009, we will have to decline the option and will not receive this opportunity again.

We will be able to fill any unused slots with other period type cars, e.g. Lola T70, Jaguar E-Type, De Tomaso etc.

Questions and Answers

Below are questions we asked and the organiser's replies:

1) Will this be an open track session or behind some sort of pace car?

You will be behind a pace car (it is an obligation for insurance). But on a 13.6 km track it is absolutely not a problem and the pace car goes fast!

2) Will the cars involved require scrutineering?

Absolutely not! Once again it is not a race, just track laps.

3) Will the drivers and passengers require crash helmets and race suits?

Helmets will be required, but race suits are not an obligation. NOTE: We are actively looking for local helmet hire for those who don’t own one.

4) Do you have specific sign on sheets and indemnity forms that need to be signed?

I come back to you on this point in the week.

So, this is your opportunity to drive the fabulous Le Mans circuit at dusk for a full half hour at a fraction of the cost per lap of the Saturday morning scrum.

I hope you can join in with us. To join our club, click on this link 'How to Join'. Anyone who wants to participate and isn't a member will have to join the club and should therefore send in £230 and a membership form. Anyone joining now is automatically a 2010 member.
