The story of Leslie King's KVA GT40

The car resides in Belfast and has heated garage all to itself.  In Leslie's (edited) words...

"I bought the car from a Club member who lives near Brighton, Ken Sucliffe who is a retired Dentist.  He had three cars in the family and his wife demanded only two so the GT40 had to go.  It was advertised in a Kitcar magazine.

He sent me video of car, close ups and on the road.  Of course as soon as I heard its engine that was it!  I flew across to Gatwick, we had a test drive, I bought the car and arranged to collect it two weeks later.

I came across with a trailer and arranged for Ken to meet me part way at the service area at Oxford on the M40.  We put the car straight onto trailer and and I had high speed dash home.  I made round trip in 26 hours and was very glad to be back home with the new toy I had dreamt about for more than 30 years.

About 35 years ago I bought this poster and when I moved into my new house with my new bride this went above the bed where it stayed in various houses for 21 years until we moved to this house were it now dominates my den.

The car has a Rover 3500 V8 SDI engine matched to a Citroen gearbox, Holley 390 carb, Electronic ignition and rev limiter.

I belong to two other Car Clubs, The Thoroughbred Sports Car Club and the Ulster Kit Car Club and take part in various events with both a couple of Hill Climbs and track days each year and some Car Shows with the Kit Car Club."
