1984, Ford GT40-Jacky Ickx’s Famous 1969, Le Mans Winning “Tribute” Version
Painstakingly hand-built, by a true engineering enthusiast, over very many years, to commemorate the “two Jacky’s” Ickx and Oliver’s, famous surprise, final fourth Le Mans Win in succession for Ford, in the very late 1960’s, where he “walked” from the line,in protest and was, in fact, the very last sports car away and then finally, after 24 arduous hours, of racing, amazingly came through the field, to just win, ahead of Gerald Larousses’s Porsche 908, to create what is still scarcely believable today, as the closest ever recorded finish in Le Mans Sports car racing history.
The Ford Gt40, was originally created to “re-buff” Enzo Ferrari and for Henry Ford 11, to exert revenge, for Enzo’s refusal to sell his company to Ford, after repeated attempts, to do so, which they eventually did, an incredible four times in succession and so, when Ford’s racing “originals” very rarely c9me to market, they tend to fetch, some “seven-figure” sums, none more so, than “chassis-1075”, the actual 1969 Le Mans Winner, driven so competently by “both” the Jacky’s Ickx and Oliver and which now currently resides , in the Henry Ford Museum, in the U.S.A.
Our similarily spec’d commemorative model, now offered here, resplendent in its wonderfully correct and now patenated shade of traditional “gulf-oil” powder blue and orange “heritage-livery”, also sits in our “private” “Campbell Museum” of Record Breakers”, which indeed, of course, it most certainly is, as Ford’s final fourth successive Le Mans Winner and quite recent entrant to the “retro” Le Mans Classic, here in Sussex, U. K.
There is, of course, a very full and comprehensive documented build/service-record, history file, available and V5C registration document, which all confirms, it’s now “historical-status” and also included is its “date-related” number plate.
Over the many years, much work and expenditure, has been completed , which is all documented, in our descriptive building breakdown, here in Sussex U.K. and which any new owner is most welcome to obtain and view, either by email or direct phone and there is the additional opportunity to “test-drive” around our “private” race track!
Some more recent improvements and modifications though do include some unusual “colour-coordinated” and “sculptured-in” Canards(aerodynamic fins), used for stability at speed down the very long “4 mile” long “Mulsanne” straight at Le Mans, a “cill-mounted”, “dog-leg” wooden “logo’d Gt40, gear shift, as seen on the originals, a “full leather trimmed” interior wit blue “villains” 4-point racing harnesse’s to both passenger and drivers “bucket” seats, “turn-key” racing battery “cut-off” master switch, split-rim chrome, powder coated and painted, Gt40 Logo’d BRM alloy wheels, with  authentic “wired” dummy spinners, complete with newly imported (U.S.A.) 285mm wider painted Good year Eagle Racing Tyres, as per photos on display here, and racing “fully fixed-in” fire extinguisher and extended rear “en-larger” chrome tail exhaust pipes, which now emit a very throaty roar, but still being noise compliant to road and racing decibel limits.
All in all, this surely a truly unique opportunity to secure and own, what is still one of the world’s, most desirable and deemed by very many knowledgeable, authoritative,”afficiendo’s”, to be the first and foremost true racing super car, as depicted in the very many Le Mans Racing films and most originally  “Steve Mcqueen’s” very famous 1971, era-defining original factually correct action film, – with all eyes, always turning in this cars direction, each and every single time, it embarks on any journey/outing, it can now be continued to be cherished and enjoyed to its full, by any lucky new owner.
